Job description

Role Overview

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing comprehensive payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, and maintaining updated employee data within payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee master records, payroll files, and other relevant data in the HR and payroll platforms, guaranteeing data integrity.
  • Oversee daily attendance records, liaise with project teams to rectify discrepancies, and ensure correct input into payroll calculations.
  • Execute punctual monthly payroll processing covering salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and related payment activities.
  • Manage final settlements, end-of-service benefits, leave payments, and employee entitlements adhering strictly to labor laws and internal policies.
  • Promptly address payroll inconsistencies, resolve employee queries, and troubleshoot payroll system problems while providing excellent service.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, reconciliation, authorization, and approval of all payroll transactions.
  • Adhere to labor legislation, tax regulations, statutory mandates, and company policies affecting payroll procedures.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes by supplying necessary payroll documents, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Preserve confidentiality surrounding employee details, payroll data, and corporate sensitive information.
  • Engage in payroll system testing, enhancements, and deployment of best practices to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, and project teams to maintain accurate employee data and seamless payroll operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Have 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in payroll management.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, accounting platforms, employment laws, and tax requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office suite applications.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, analytical prowess, and keen attention to detail for reconciliation tasks.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Capacity to uphold confidentiality and professionally handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive interactions.
  • Robust problem-solving capabilities and ability to perform well under pressure.
