Role Overview
Join a dedicated national payroll team located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, and take responsibility for ensuring payroll accuracy at Peabody's Wilpinjong Mine in New South Wales. This role involves leveraging your expertise with SAP Payroll and Kronos/UKG systems to deliver precise and compliant payroll services within a complex operational setting. Build strong collaborative relationships with employees, leadership, and site stakeholders to foster payroll excellence and ongoing enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end payroll processing with strict attention to data accuracy, timely completion, and compliance with relevant agreements, awards, and corporate policies.
- Manage and validate time and attendance data using UKG (Kronos) and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) platforms.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, HR personnel, and operation leaders efficiently.
- Deliver training and ongoing support for employees and supervisors regarding the use of UKG and payroll-related applications.
- Collaborate closely with HR and site teams on roster modifications, employment changes, enterprise agreements, and their payroll implications.
- Assist with payroll statutory obligations and reporting requirements.
- Support audits, drive process improvements, update documentation, and maintain data integrity across payroll functions.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least five years of hands-on payroll processing experience within the Australian context.
- Minimum two years’ proficiency utilizing SAP Employee Central, SAP ECP, and UKG/Kronos systems.
- In-depth understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including superannuation, Single Touch Payroll (STP), enterprise agreements, and awards.
- Experience managing complex rosters and time & attendance arrangements in payroll processing.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, paired with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously while fostering strong partnerships with site, corporate, and national payroll teams based in NSW and Queensland.
- Possession of payroll, accounting, or related qualifications is advantageous.
- Experience in the mining industry is desirable but not mandatory.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to the Wilpinjong mine site as needed.
