About Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools
Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is a publicly funded educational district in southern Alberta serving around 10,500 students, 500 teachers, and 250 support personnel. The District operates traditional schools across various locations including Canmore, Brooks, Drumheller, High River, Okotoks, De Winton, Oyen, and Strathmore, along with online schooling, home education, and shared responsibility programs. Role Overview
The Payroll Coordinator is entrusted with delivering expert payroll knowledge and customer service to internal and external stakeholders, focusing primarily on monthly payroll and benefits processing for teaching and substitute teaching staff. The position includes supervising, training, mentoring, and supporting the Payroll Officer, Human Resource team, employees, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle operational payroll activities daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide high-quality client service to both internal and external parties regarding payroll, benefits, and pension queries.
- Manage confidential employee information with discretion.
- Ensure all payroll processes meet legislative standards, deadlines, and filing requirements.
- Support and lead payroll-related teams and stakeholders with training and mentoring.
Candidate Requirements
- Ten years of full-cycle experience in payroll, benefits, and pension administration.
- Possession of the Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation from the National Payroll Institute.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, employment standards, benefits, and pension administration principles.
- Experience working with ATRF pension plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, particularly Excel, alongside significant accounting expertise.
- A respectful and empathetic understanding of Catholic beliefs and practices is essential.

This position is full-time and based onsite in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. The candidate is expected to uphold confidentiality and align with the Catholic faith-based environment of CTR Catholic Schools.
