Job description
Job Overview
This role involves performing essential warehouse functions including loading, unloading, scanning, and sorting freight within the facility to ensure smooth package handling operations. The position requires adherence to FedEx Canada operational standards and Canadian Customs regulations where applicable.
Primary Duties
- Unload and load shipments efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Scan and accurately sort freight throughout the processing area.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs guidelines is an advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively within the team.
- Must successfully complete all initial and recurrent training sessions to meet company standards.
- Physical capability to lift weights up to 70 lbs regularly and maneuver packages that can weigh as much as 150 lbs using appropriate equipment.
Additional Information
- Grade level: 79.
- Wage: $20.37 per hour.
- Shift Schedule: Shift 1 operates Monday to Wednesday from 1:30 am to 9:30 am; Shift 2 runs Thursday to Saturday from 2:00 am to 9:30 am.
- This job description is generalized and the employee should expect to carry out additional tasks as assigned.
- Ability to operate within a PC Windows environment and maintain annual certifications is necessary.
- Shift work is required and may vary according to operational demands.
- Bilingualism in French and English is mandatory for candidates residing in Quebec.
- If driving is part of the core duties, candidates must hold a valid driver's license (Class 5, G, or 1[AZ]) with a clean driving record (maximum two violations/accidents in past 24 months) and successfully pass driver competency assessments.
