Role Overview

The Order Picker/Warehouse Operative is accountable for the secure, safe, and precise handling and selection of goods. This role demands adherence to Health and Safety standard operating procedures, aligned with the company’s policies, processes, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently and precisely picking, packing, checking, and scanning orders.
• Promptly reporting any inconsistencies, damages, shortages, or excesses following company guidelines.
• Executing manual handling tasks, including transporting boxes and lifting items of moderate weight.
• Assisting in receiving, organizing, and storing incoming shipments.
• Accurately completing associated documentation within required timeframes.
• Conducting pre-use inspections of vehicles and equipment and reporting any faults or problems as per company procedure.
• Maintaining a safe workplace by following Health and Safety protocols and keeping the environment clean and hazard-free.
• Completing all mandatory training and remaining compliant with the Employee Handbook policies and standards.
• Fostering a positive and cooperative team atmosphere.

Essential Qualifications and Attributes

• Proven experience using a Power Pallet truck in a dynamic warehouse setting.
• Possession of a valid and current Power Pallet Truck license.
• Manual Handling certification is advantageous.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Basic literacy and numeracy competence.
• A motivated, proactive attitude with a willingness to contribute.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a busy and fast-moving team environment.

Work Schedule and Location

The position has a permanent contract with a six-month probation period. Work hours involve a two-week rotational schedule: 7 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, then 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. The workplace is located at IDA Business Technology Park, Ballynattin, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Y14 A370.
