Job description
Role Overview
This position entails advanced administration and management of Oracle databases with a focus on Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) technology. The candidate will supervise multiple RAC environments ranging from 2-node to 4-node clusters and perform installations, configurations, upgrades, and security operations to ensure database performance and availability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive Oracle database administration tasks.
- Administer and deploy Oracle RAC environments, including 19c versions.
- Install, configure, and manage RAC clusters with 2, 3, and 4 nodes.
- Handle database installation, patch management, and upgrades effectively.
- Conduct routine assessments on database health and monitor system performance.
- Enforce database security protocols and safeguards.
- Participate in database migration and upgrade initiatives.
- Implement high availability strategies and conduct disaster recovery exercises.
- Perform failover testing to validate system resilience.
- Manage Oracle GoldenGate configurations and processes.
- Provide continuous 24/7 support through rotating weekly shifts.
- Lead and coordinate a team comprising 20 members initially.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have graduated from a recognized institution.
Additional Information
- The role is based in Mumbai, India, within a CMM Level 5 IT company.
- Work involves shift-based 24/7 operational support.
