Job Summary
The Technology Support Associate based in Nairobi provides comprehensive end-user technology support by managing various hardware and software tasks. This role operates efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple assignments while supporting firm personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy hardware and software to end users, including installation, configuration, and testing of complex equipment.
- Manage provisioning and de-provisioning processes by setting up resources for new employees and handling asset return for departing staff.
- Coordinate repair and reinstallation of software/hardware to resolve user incidents effectively.
- Troubleshoot firm-standard software and hardware issues, including mobile devices, and identify recurring technical problems to prevent future incidents.
- Provide after-hours support for escalated issues with minimal supervision.
- Offer on-site assistance during firm-sponsored functions or meetings.
- Perform asset management and assist with office relocations, builds, and moves as directed.
- Serve as remote support for other IT functions such as telecommunications and hosting services.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of IT services to address user needs and technology disruptions efficiently.
- Understand firm operations and anticipate technology-related challenges affecting staff productivity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with at least upper second-class honours or equivalent.
- KCSE with minimum overall grade B, including at least B in English and Mathematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and time management competencies.
- Customer-service oriented with the capability to collaborate effectively with users and IT colleagues at all organizational levels.
Analytical and Decision-Making Skills
- Robust analytical ability to resolve user incidents escalated from the service desk or presented directly by users.
- Decision-making limited to individual issues, with responsibility to prioritize and communicate status effectively.
