About the Role
Join Early Start Australia's passionate allied health team as an Occupational Therapist, delivering impactful services to children and young people aged 0-16 and their families. Operating mainly from the Werribee clinic, with opportunities for community, school, and home visits, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their developmental goals through personalized therapy programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct appropriate assessments tailored to each client.
- Manage a caseload of clients, including those with complex needs, using a comprehensive case management approach.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and adapt individualized therapy plans based on client goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary allied health professionals to optimize client outcomes.
- Deliver therapy services across various environments, including clinics, homes, schools, and communities.
- Create and facilitate specialized programs such as group therapy sessions and parent workshops.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy in line with organizational and legal requirements.
- Document treatment sessions and client progress in the practice management system within 24 hours.
- Prepare and provide quality reports to stakeholders such as families, health professionals, and funding bodies (e.g., NDIA).
- Align therapy planning with funding types and review pertinent NDIS plans when applicable.
- Participate in professional development, peer reviews, and team meetings to enhance skills and service quality.
- Adhere to organizational policies including work health and safety, child safety, and cultural competence.
- Engage in networking and maintain effective collaborations with other professionals and agencies.
- Ensure ongoing registration and compliance with AHPRA and other relevant bodies.
Required Qualifications and Compliance
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Working with Children Check or equivalent Vulnerable People Registration as required by state legislation.
- National Police Check clearance.
- Accredited First Aid Certificate.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience with solution-focused therapies and early intervention strategies.
- Ability to customize services to meet individual client needs.
- Strong communication, organizational, observational, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively autonomously in community settings and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
