.NET Cloud Native API Developer

About the Role

CGI is a premier consulting services firm dedicated to providing forward-thinking solutions that enhance client experiences and foster business growth. We are expanding our technology division within the retail banking sector and are looking for a skilled .NET API Developer specialized in cloud native technologies. This role involves modernizing and transforming banking infrastructure to boost scalability, improve security, reduce technical debt, and ensure 24/7 availability by leveraging automation and real-time transaction data synchronization. The position requires expertise in microservices to facilitate independent technology updates, deployments, and scaling.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers to conceptualize and design algorithms and workflow diagrams.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize robust .NET APIs intended for banking applications.
• Write clean and efficient code adhering to provided specifications.
• Work with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure smooth integration with current banking systems.
• Incorporate software components and integrate third-party applications seamlessly.
• Enforce security measures, including implementing protocols and controls for identity and access management.
• Enhance API performance and scalability to meet operational needs.
• Diagnose and resolve API issues, perform debugging, and update existing software modules.
• Test and deploy systems and software reliably.
• Collect user feedback to drive recommendations and implement continuous improvements.
• Stay informed on the latest industry trends, methodologies, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5 to 7+ years of recent experience in .NET development environments.
• Expertise in .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API development.
• Deep understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles and implementations.
• Experience with authentication protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively across geographically-distributed teams with varied expertise.
• Proficiency with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with keen attention to detail.
• Experience in banking or financial services software systems is advantageous.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on skills, regional market standards, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other factors. This is a current opening.
