Job description
About the Role
Start each day with a focus on precise vehicle diagnosis and skilled repairs, prioritizing accuracy over speed to ensure safety, quality, and customer confidence. As a Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET) Technician, you play an indispensable role in restoring vehicles to safe, fully operational conditions after accident damage.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, repair, and reinstall mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle components.
- Identify faults accurately and perform repairs following manufacturer guidelines.
- Precisely reassemble vehicles to prepare them for painting and final inspection.
- Collaborate with Panel, Paint, and production teams to maintain efficient repair workflows.
- Uphold safe, clean work environments and professional conduct at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should come with relevant hands-on experience in automotive repairs and a methodical, safety-conscious work ethic. This may include previous roles as a MET Technician or a solid background as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic aiming to transition to MET work. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality-first repairs are essential. Candidates demonstrating the right foundation and approach will be supported in their professional development.
Work Environment and Culture
Each Solus workshop varies, but consistently values calm problem-solving, teamwork, and sound technical judgment. This role relies on trust, clear communication, and technical expertise. You will join a collaborative workshop where MET knowledge is fully respected, led by managers prioritizing accurate, safe repairs. Opportunities exist to expand your skills and handle more complex tasks over time, all within an inclusive environment that embraces diversity and individuality.
