Job description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our international school in Doha, Qatar. This role involves planning comprehensive lesson plans, maintaining student records, designing assessments, and collaborating with educational and psychological professionals to support diverse student needs.
Key Duties
- Develop and submit lesson plans ahead of classes to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
- Prepare necessary materials to facilitate effective classroom instruction.
- Implement the annual academic objectives as detailed in the school's curriculum plans.
- Keep the grade book updated; input grades on or before evaluation deadlines.
- Design and administer monthly assessments aligned with topic coverage.
- Evaluate all student assignments and provide timely grades.
- Enhance classroom environment with topical, activity-related, and holiday decorations.
- Supervise playground duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with Psychology Department to support students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Work alongside Academic Coordinator and psychologist to assist students with special needs, including those who are gifted.
- Participate in regular meetings with educational staff and parents, as well as institutional workshops.
- Manage communication between students, parents, and relevant departments, particularly regarding student welfare and conflicts.
- Organize and support student participation in extracurricular events, community service, and fundraising projects.
- Maintain student attendance records accurately and timely.
- Monitor student engagement in homework and school activities actively.
- Uphold school policies regarding uniform and professional conduct.
- Perform additional duties related to the teaching position as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field is mandatory.
- A Master’s degree in these areas is preferred.
- At least two years of practical teaching experience.
- Proficient with digital educational tools and competent with intermediate Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
