About the Role
This fully remote, hourly-contracted position requires you to review and generate language content using AI tools, emphasizing reasoning quality and stepwise problem-solving for accurate, logical, and clearly presented outputs. Your responsibilities include assessing AI-generated solutions for correctness, clarity, and alignment with prompts; detecting errors in methodology or conceptual understanding; fact-checking information; composing precise explanations and model answers that demonstrate appropriate methods; and rating multiple AI responses based on their accuracy and quality of reasoning. Your expertise in Chinese (Mandarin) localization and translation, combined with advanced English proficiency, ensures that terminology, tone, and cultural nuances maintain consistency across different contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive prompts and responses across various topics to train AI models, fostering a wide-ranging grasp of subjects.
- Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve accuracy, fluency, and contextual appropriateness of models.
- Test AI models rigorously to uncover inaccuracies or bias, confirming reliability for diverse applications.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in fields such as Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related disciplines.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) with expert knowledge of Chinese locale conventions.
- English proficiency at minimum C1 level (reading and writing) to accurately interpret prompts and guidelines.
- Over five years of professional experience in localization or translation, preferably with multilingual expertise.
- Proven skill in applying MQM/LQA methodologies including severity assessment, categorization, and root cause analysis to ensure consistent quality.
- Experience with CAT tools and quality assurance workflows, including translation memories, termbases, and automated checks, comfortably working with structured instructions.
- Strong editorial judgment regarding register, tone, inclusiveness, and cultural subtlety with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to thoroughly fact-check localized content such as units, references, names, and dates using trustworthy sources and logical evaluation.
- Reliability as an hourly contractor, with consistent productivity, clear documentation, and responsiveness across time zones.
- Preferably previous involvement in AI data training, annotation, or evaluation projects.
