Job description

About the Role

The Environmental Health Institute (EHI), part of the National Environment Agency (NEA), specializes in multidisciplinary scientific research that informs public health initiatives and policies. This role is tasked with leading strategic procurement, asset administration, and capital expenditure project implementation to support EHI’s scientific and laboratory functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with EHI’s scientific divisions and NEA corporate teams to devise and execute strategic procurement plans aligned with research and laboratory operational needs.
  • Develop procurement contracts pertaining to laboratory facility works such as fit-outs and modifications, facility management, laboratory equipment acquisitions, consumable supplies, and outsourced services, all complying with government procurement regulations.
  • Provide guidance to users on government procurement frameworks, contract procedures, and governance to ensure proper contracting approaches.
  • Oversee asset management strategies including lifecycle planning, utilization, replacement planning, and maintaining precise asset registries.
  • Facilitate coordination among stakeholders to handle project approvals, cost monitoring, variations, and progress milestones.
  • Champion the adoption of digital and data-centric tools to enhance contract oversight, asset monitoring, payment processing, and strategic procurement analytics.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in procurement, asset management, or project coordination within scientific research or laboratory environments.
  • Knowledgeable in government procurement policies and associated procedures.
  • Capable of managing and tracking follow-up activities efficiently through organizational tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage communications with various stakeholders effectively.
