The manager acts as the subject matter expert on AI security, collaborating with Technology GRC, Internal Audit, and AI Assurance teams to establish a comprehensive AI defense strategy aligned with legal and regulatory standards like the Cyber Security Act 2018.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical advisor on AI security matters and present updates to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Create governance frameworks and conduct AI security awareness initiatives targeting high-risk business units.
  • Manage relationships and budgets with AI security vendors, MSSPs, and red-team providers, coordinating audit remediation in partnership with AI Assurance.
  • Design and deploy security controls to protect AI agents, copilots, and automated systems against prompt injection, data exfiltration, and other AI-specific threat vectors.
  • Integrate AI threat detection capabilities into SOC workflows and SIEM systems.
  • Develop and lead incident response playbooks for AI threat scenarios including deepfake BEC, model misuse, and AI-driven social engineering.
  • Oversee AI-focused adversarial testing and red-teaming exercises and drive remediation of resulting vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain vigilant monitoring, control enforcement, and readiness for AI security incidents in coordination with SOC and operational teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of cybersecurity experience with minimum 3 years specializing in AI/ML security or ML security operations.
  • Practical experience securing production AI environments including generative AI, agentic systems, and machine learning pipelines.
  • Proven ability to translate highly technical AI risks into strategic narratives for executive audiences and boards.
  • Senior cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISM, or recognized equivalent.
  • Familiarity with standards and frameworks like NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, OWASP LLM Top 10, and MITRE ATLAS.
