About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician based in Inverness and surrounding areas with Tesco, you will play a key role in ensuring that stores are safe, fully operational, and welcoming environments for both customers and colleagues. Your expertise will be essential in conducting planned and reactive maintenance on various equipment and systems to support smooth store operations. This position directly contributes to the shopping experience of thousands of customers daily by promptly diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues while prioritizing safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively liaise with external contractors to coordinate repairs without disruption.
- Collaborate closely with the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain high energy levels to manage multiple tasks efficiently throughout the day.
- Support store management by keeping equipment and facilities functioning optimally.
- Plan maintenance activities carefully to minimize impact on customers.
- Ensure all Tesco locations remain safe and operational environments for customers and staff.
- Follow scheduled maintenance work to achieve a first-time fix, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members to promote continuous improvement.
- Perform routine day-to-day maintenance of stores and property assets.
- Utilize mobile technology such as phones and tablets to manage tasks and update work progress.
- Represent Tesco by embodying core values, maintaining a positive attitude, and taking pride in personal appearance and uniform.
- Participate in local and national meetings, offering constructive feedback and insights.
- Contribute to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction environments is essential.
- Familiarity and confidence with digital tools, including tablets, for managing daily schedules and communication.
- Educational qualification at ONC level or equivalent.
- Possession of a full driving license.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations and practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in Office 365 applications.
- Completed relevant technical upskilling and training modules according to capability.
