Job description
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Technician based in Shepherds Bush and nearby locations, you will ensure all Tesco stores remain safe, operational, and inviting for customers and staff. You'll join a skilled team responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance of various systems and machinery, directly influencing the daily experience of thousands. Your technical aptitude will be used to swiftly identify and solve issues, prioritizing safety, compliance, and high standards throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate effectively with external contractors to facilitate repairs smoothly.
- Work closely with colleagues, fostering a team environment that values quality service.
- Maintain consistent energy and efficiency while managing multiple tasks.
- Support management in ensuring stores run without disruption by maintaining essential equipment and facilities.
- Organize repairs so they minimally affect customer experience.
- Follow scheduled maintenance plans aiming for first-time fixes to enhance efficiency.
- Help maintain store and property upkeep during daily operations.
- Utilize mobile devices such as phones and tablets to optimize work execution and updates.
- Exemplify Tesco's core values, maintaining a positive demeanor and professional appearance.
- Participate in local and national meetings, contributing valuable insights.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction environments.
- Technical qualification such as ONC or equivalent.
- Valid full driving license.
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
- Proficient communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with Office 365 tools.
- Digital confidence using tablets for scheduling and email management.
- Completion of all relevant technical training and upskilling modules.
