Job description
Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the uninterrupted, safe, and efficient operation of production machinery and plant equipment within a manufacturing environment. This position supports production continuity through reactive troubleshooting, scheduled preventative maintenance, and continuous monitoring of facility utilities and systems. Maintaining clear shift handovers and detailed reporting are essential components of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Quickly respond to breakdowns in production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Reduce equipment downtime and help meet production objectives.
- Escalate urgent issues as necessary to appropriate personnel.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
- Manage inventory of spare and replacement parts.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and promptly.
- Identify repeat issues and suggest process or equipment improvements.
- Conduct all tasks following company safety guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Record all maintenance activities performed during shifts thoroughly.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical trade, or Mechatronics.
- Awareness of quality and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficient mechanical and/or electrical fault diagnosis skills.
- Exposure to automated production machinery.
- Familiarity with plant utilities including HVAC, compressors, boilers, and chillers.
- Ability to work autonomously during evening shifts.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and system controls.
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
