Maintenance Operative

Role Overview

Fota Island Resort is seeking a Maintenance Operative to become a key member of our team. This position entails ensuring that all internal and external premises of the resort are operated safely, efficiently, and maintained to an exceptional standard. Collaborating closely with the Engineering department, the role contributes significantly to delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Key Duties

• Perform general repairs, do-it-yourself projects, and painting tasks
• Request reorder of necessary supplies and spare parts through the Manager
• Support the implementation of the preventive maintenance program
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and machinery remain in optimal working condition
• Report regularly to the Engineering Manager on the status and condition of buildings and systems
• Assist in addressing emergency repairs involving fire safety, water, electrical, and other critical services
• Maintain a consistently high quality of workmanship across tasks
• Adhere strictly to company policies and contribute to their continuous upkeep
• Oversee the visual standards and presentation of the hotel, ensuring pristine appearance

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in general maintenance or strong practical skills relevant to maintenance work
• Demonstrates flexibility and a proactive, hands-on working style
• Detail-oriented and takes pride in producing quality results
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
• Basic proficiency with IT tools
• Good interpersonal and communication abilities
• Possession of Safe Pass certification is advantageous
