Role Overview

The organisation is seeking to hire a Maintenance Electrician to support efficient electrical and mechanical maintenance at an oil terminal situated in a port setting. This position includes personalised on-the-job training, mentoring, coaching, and biannual performance reviews to support employee development and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic equipment.
• Ensure all engineering tasks comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Maintain detailed, well-organized records of maintenance activities in both written and electronic formats.
• Update computerized maintenance management systems like Maximo and Agility.
• Communicate effectively with technical teams and management—such as Terminal Supervisor, Terminal Manager, and Group Maintenance Manager—to resolve defects, operational changes, or maintenance alerts.
• Perform maintenance on LV distribution systems, small power and lighting, including emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Compex Electrical certification permitting work on Atex category equipment.
• Demonstrated competency in handling, selecting, installing, inspecting, and maintaining "Ex" apparatus in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• Prior experience working within industrial environments.
