Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Associate plays a key role in ensuring the store's environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained both inside and out. This position's attention to detail and proactive maintenance contributes to providing an enjoyable shopping experience and a suitable workplace atmosphere.

• Execute routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and operating a floor scrubber to maintain hygienic, safe surfaces for customers and colleagues.
• Manage waste by emptying trash bins and replacing liners to uphold tidiness.
• Sanitize restrooms and breakrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Clean and organize counters, display shelves, and fixtures to ensure neat presentations.
• Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, addressing small plumbing issues, and fixing damaged fixtures.
• Inspect the premises to identify and report any safety concerns, faulty equipment, or maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with occasional store tasks like unloading deliveries, restocking, and shelving merchandise as time permits.
• Maintain a clutter-free exterior environment by managing parking lot cleanliness and trash removal.
• Operate floor scrubbing machinery proficiently.
• Engage in cross-training opportunities to build versatility across different departments and tasks.
• Participate in ongoing learning through training sessions, workshops, and webinars aimed at skill enhancement and knowledge updates.
• Offer courteous, proactive, and professional support internally and externally, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in retail cashier or supervisory roles or a comparable blend of education and experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with solid mathematical ability for accurate cash handling.
• Strong analytical skills to review information meticulously and detect discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for policy enforcement, team guidance, and customer interactions.
• Effective listening skills with capability to ask pertinent questions and provide clear, comprehensive responses.
• Outstanding customer service aptitude.
• Proficiency and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite and related computer systems.
• Availability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule including days, nights, and weekends based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maintain both sitting and standing positions for extended periods.
• Capacity to lift, push, or pull weights up to 30 pounds frequently and 31-50 pounds occasionally.
• Mobility to access and navigate all store facilities.
• Competency in verbal communication in person and through electronic means.
• Close vision capabilities for computer-related tasks.
