Their clientele ranges from emerging craft brewers to international beverage corporations, spanning markets such as beer, cider, alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages, soft drinks, juices, wine, seltzers, and energy drinks.
Role Summary
Orora is increasing its canning capacity at the Queensland facility by introducing a new manufacturing line. Reporting to the shift supervisor, this position involves working 12-hour rotating shifts (7am–7pm and 7pm–7am). The Machine Operator will be responsible for upholding safety, quality, and manufacturing standards while operating high-speed machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety protocols, ensure product quality, and adhere to manufacturing standards
- Operate high-speed machinery including performing equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and making machine adjustments
- Carry out maintenance tasks on production equipment
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) precisely
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class operational performance
- Actively participate as a motivated and enthusiastic team member
Candidate Profile
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic proficiency with computers
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Flexibility to work rotating 24-hour shift patterns
- Previous manufacturing or printing experience is beneficial
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing
Compensation and Benefits
- Operations run on a 24/7 roster with competitive hourly wages plus allowances; work schedules vary between 24/6 or 24/5 days depending on demand
- Minimum annualized salary of $64,257
