Job Summary

This position seeks an experienced and meticulous Machine Operator to be part of the production team, responsible for operating and maintaining machinery, overseeing production quality, and managing inventory systems with SAP to ensure effective foam production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Use SAP software to generate inventory tags within the ATS system, verifying bun accuracy.
• Calculate shrinkage and flat bun efficiency precisely to maintain correct inventory tagging.
• Monitor foam block heights and control air flow to ensure production standards.
• Operate automated equipment including cutoff saws, conveyor belts, airlocks, and downstream devices.
• Inspect foam products, promptly fix or report any defects, and ensure accurate labeling and sample cutting with proper documentation.
• Conduct daily inspections in the bun room, review previous day’s production, and communicate findings to supervisors.
• Address issues related to bun cutting and offer constructive feedback to enhance processes.
• Clean waste film and foam residues from machines and floors after pouring.
• Operate the 200-foot bun room crane when needed and manage slurry systems for both trial and production runs.
• Maintain automated systems to guarantee smooth, efficient operation.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of technical or vocational education is advantageous.
• Minimum of three years experience as a machine operator or in a comparable production setting.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in SAP or similar inventory management software.
• Keen attention to detail to detect and resolve production issues.
• Knowledge of foam manufacturing processes and automated machinery operation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to give practical process improvement suggestions.
• Certified and safe operation of heavy equipment such as cranes.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Capability to lift substantial weights, stand for long durations, and perform physically demanding tasks within a manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working amid machinery noise and possible chemical exposure.
