- Collaborate closely with shipbrokers, vessel owners, operators, and internal teams to negotiate competitive freight solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive economics evaluations of physical deals covering commodity price, transportation, terminal expenses, operational limits, and associated risks.
- Engage in end-to-end commercial negotiations encompassing opportunity identification, contract formation, chartering, execution, loading, and delivery phases.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with LPG producers, suppliers, customers, trading partners, shipowners, brokers, and other market participants.
- Evaluate and foresee trade impacts across market risk, credit, operational, shipping, and financial dimensions.
- Work closely with Operations, Shipping, Risk, Credit, Finance, and other trading teams for seamless trade execution and portfolio management.
- Contribute actively to expanding BxT’s LPG market presence, commercial network, and overall activity growth.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for positively influencing LPG trading profit and loss and fostering profitable portfolio growth alongside trading strategies.
- Management of trading positions within assigned risk limits and governance frameworks.
- Ensure physical trading and chartering actions are aligned commercially and incorporate freight and operational risk considerations.
- Adhere strictly to contractual commitments covering spot, term, physical, paper, and shipping activities.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, sanctions, HSE, vetting, and other regulatory or governance policies.
- Uphold exemplary standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in the collaborative BxT joint venture environment.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related fields.
- Minimum three years of front-office LPG trading experience within a major energy firm, commodity trading house, or similar physical trading setting, with proven autonomy and P&L contribution capability.
- Strong expertise in global physical LPG markets including trade flows, pricing, arbitrage strategies, and paper trading with derivatives and risk management knowledge.
- Comprehensive hands-on experience in LPG shipping and chartering including vessel selection, freight markets, voyage economics, laycans, terminal restrictions, and demurrage management with an emphasis on integrating freight economics into trading choices.
- Keen insight into the interplay between commodity pricing and freight economics to identify and monetize trading opportunities.
- Established commercial relationships with LPG stakeholders, shipowners, and brokers along with well-developed analytical, commercial, and negotiation competencies.
- Sound judgment in managing trading, operational, and contractual risks in dynamic and volatile market conditions.
- Self-driven and decisive with excellent communication and collaborative skills across Trading, Operations, Shipping, and other departments.
