Position Overview

We are seeking a Lighting Designer to join our Dubai office. The successful candidate will possess a degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field and be working towards professional qualifications in lighting. Candidates must have at least 4 years of post-graduate experience in a design practice, showcasing strong creative and technical skills, along with the ability to clearly communicate ideas both visually and verbally.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project lighting design from initial concept through final implementation.
• Develop lighting design solutions tailored to client briefs, budgets, and industry standards.
• Attend meetings with clients and design teams to ensure alignment and coordination.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients effectively.
• Conduct lighting calculations, research fixture options, review samples, and construct mockups.
• Document lighting designs, including detailed drawings, fixture schedules, and control specifications.
• Participate in lighting mockups throughout project stages as required.
• Assist with site supervision and support final project commissioning under senior guidance.

Role Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years professional experience working within design practices.
• Ability to independently manage projects from concept to completion, actively engaging in presentations, drawing packages, specifications, schedules, calculations, mock-ups, site visits, and communications.
• Strong initiative and willingness to take leadership roles within the team.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on high-quality results.
• Proficiency in DIALux, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
• Familiarity with BIM software such as 3ds Max, Rhino, Revit, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Ability to visually articulate ideas through graphic representations is highly valued.
• Excellent time management and communication skills for effectively coordinating with project stakeholders.
• Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Capability to create visual lighting concept reproductions using Photoshop including plans, sections, and 3D images.
• Skilled in utilizing photometric data and adjusting Vray and Corona rendering settings for realistic lighting simulations.
• Self-motivated with adaptability to manage fluctuating client demands and a proactive communication style within the team.
• A collaborative team player with a commitment to enhancing collective outputs.
• Strong understanding of lighting significance in visualization.
• Proactive approach to daily responsibilities and problem-solving on the fly.
• Organized in managing personal and team workloads.
• Provide general support to the design team including drawing preparation and CAD/BIM assistance; training provided for any lacking expertise.
