Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Lifeguard position involves overseeing safety across the resort's pools and beach areas. The incumbent must monitor guests to prevent incidents, enforce safety guidelines, and act swiftly during emergencies. Core duties include water rescues, administering first aid, inspecting lifesaving gear, maintaining clean and safe aquatic environments, reporting hazards, and collaborating closely with other resort team members to ensure an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe swimmers continuously and enforce established safety rules.
  • Respond immediately to any emergencies or accidents, performing rescues and providing first aid as necessary.
  • Inspect and maintain lifesaving equipment and report any issues promptly.
  • Keep pool and beach areas clean, safe, and organized.
  • Communicate safety guidelines clearly to guests and staff.
  • Collaborate with resort personnel to promote a secure and welcoming environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven strong swimming skills coupled with capability to execute effective water rescues.
  • Possession of valid lifeguard certification from a recognized institution, including up-to-date first aid and CPR certifications for adults and children.
  • Thorough understanding of pool and beach safety regulations and emergency protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining composure during stressful situations.
  • Ability to remain alert for prolonged periods with keen observation and sound decision-making skills.
  • Physical fitness adequate for frequent patrolling, swift emergency response, and medical assistance.
  • Previous experience in resorts, hospitality, or recreational settings is advantageous; prior lifeguard experience highly preferred.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays, comply with resort policies, dress codes, and respect cultural sensitivities.
