Job description
Position Summary
As a lifeguard at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Doha, your primary responsibility is ensuring the safety of swimmers by applying suitable rescue techniques when necessary. You will monitor the pool area vigilantly for hazardous situations, unusual behavior, or swimmers in distress, while enforcing facility rules and regulations. You are expected to inform supervisors about guests who may not safely engage in activities, provide first aid assistance until emergency personnel arrive, and create a pleasant and secure environment for all visitors.
Additional Duties
- Manage poolside linens by obtaining, folding, and stacking towels following company methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck through washing and mopping tasks.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management promptly.
- Participate in all required safety training and hold current certifications.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, safeguard confidential information, and protect company property.
- Greet and assist guests professionally, including those with disabilities, ensuring uniforms and personal appearance are spotless and presentable.
- Use clear communication with colleagues and guests; foster a respectful and supportive team environment.
- Conduct visual inspections of tools and equipment to detect defects and act accordingly.
- Be physically prepared to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and be capable of moving, lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance.
- Comfortably move around uneven or slippery surfaces and maneuver stairs, ladders, and ramps while performing job duties.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum education level: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No prior work or supervisory experience required.
- Mandatory certifications include CPR and First Aid.
- May require qualifications related to fitness equipment and any local or state certifications.
