Licensed Customs Broker

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Licensed Customs Broker with 1 to 5 years of current Australian customs experience to join a respected Australian-owned international freight forwarding company. This full-time position is based in the Moorebank head office and involves supporting sea and air freight import customers.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end management of customs clearance processes for air and sea freight.
• Preparation and lodging of Import, SAC, EDN, and PRA declarations.
• Handling complex customs entries, including classification and valuation of goods.
• Responding to SCA inquiries and optimizing opportunities for pre-clearance.
• Ensuring compliance with Australian Customs and Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) regulations.
• Maintaining accurate documentation, including Letters of Authority (LOAs) and Letters of Indemnity (LOIs).
• Delivering professional customer service and advising on trade compliance matters.
• Coordinating with customers, government agencies, and internal teams effectively.
• Keeping updated with changes to customs rules, tariffs, and compliance obligations.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a current Australian Customs Broker Licence.
• Valid DAFF/AQIS accreditations is mandatory.
• Between 1 to 5 years’ experience in Australian customs brokerage.
• Thorough understanding of Australian Customs laws and import regulations.
• Familiarity with CargoWise1 and/or Expedient systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to work.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a close-knit team.
