Licensed Aircraft Engineer B2 - Light Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) specializing in Light Maintenance to join our Technical Engineering team in Doha. The role involves performing aircraft maintenance activities that directly support flight operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance within defined authority limits.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategically plan and execute assigned maintenance tasks using appropriate tools and equipment, following Qatar Airways and customer protocols.
• Review and recommend enhancements to maintenance procedures to optimize work effectiveness.
• Authorize the completion of maintenance work, ensuring adherence to company and customer standards, including dispatch reliability and defect management.
• Guarantee maintenance tasks comply with established policies, meeting product quality and delivery standards.
• Provide robust support to both internal teams and external customers.
• Apply technical problem-solving within scope of authority to maintain aircraft and component serviceability according to schedules.
• Supervise mechanics and technical assistants, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and standard compliance is maintained.
• Mentor and train technicians and mechanics, guiding them through on-the-job development.
• Set team objectives and priorities aligned with overall business goals, regularly reviewing and adjusting plans and procedures.
• Ensure strict compliance with technical, safety, customer, and procedural requirements among team members.
• Delegate resources effectively to meet deadlines and scheduled maintenance checks.
• Maintain high workmanship and quality standards through appropriate tool usage and task oversight while supervising others.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of related experience.
• Diploma or vocational qualification in Aircraft Maintenance, or a degree in aircraft engineering (B.Eng., BSc), or equivalent.
• Current Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license is mandatory.
• Internal candidates must have at least 1 year of aircraft certifying experience (EN.01).

Essential Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of air legislation relevant to aircraft maintenance.
• Skill in selecting appropriate tools and equipment for tasks.
• Competence in applying mathematical problem-solving to technical issues.
• Control and operation of maintenance equipment and systems.
• Proven managerial capabilities including delegation, guidance, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering a team environment.
