Learning Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Assistant to support preschool classroom activities and enhance children’s learning experiences under the guidance of the lead teacher. The role involves fostering a safe and stimulating educational environment aligned with the preschool curriculum.

Primary Duties

• Assist in delivering daily lesson plans, learning activities, and educational games consistent with the preschool syllabus.
• Supervise children during various classroom times including activities, meals, and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and encouraging positive behaviors.
• Help implement behavior management strategies by reinforcing classroom rules and supporting social and emotional development.
• Prepare and organize learning materials and displays to facilitate hands-on learning experiences.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and safety by organizing spaces and sanitizing toys and equipment.
• Provide individual or small group support for children needing extra assistance academically or emotionally.
• Observe children's developmental progress and behavior, reporting significant observations to the lead teacher.
• Support daily routines such as arrival, departure, toileting, meals, and rest periods to promote consistency and independence.
• Model respectful and inclusive behavior to cultivate a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure cohesive educational practices and care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Patience and empathy for responding gently to young children’s needs.
• Effective communication skills with children, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to work well in a team while following supervisory guidance.
• Strong observation skills to identify developmental milestones or any concerns.
• Creativity and enthusiasm to engage children through play and learning activities.
• Organizational skills to manage classroom materials and daily routines efficiently.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and children’s needs.
• Cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness towards diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Lic. Educación Preescolar or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Completion of TKT Training Course is required.
  • Previous experience in early childhood education or care is preferred but not mandatory.
