Job description
Role Overview
The Learning and Development Trainer is accountable for creating, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive training programs that empower Society team members to provide a distinguished hospitality-driven member experience across various clubs. This role fosters service standards, leadership growth, operational efficiency, and brand consistency by collaborating with Operations, Sales, Fitness, and HR teams to integrate learning into everyday activities. It involves active training facilitation, program management, and ongoing enhancements to support Society's expansion and service goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine training modules aligned with the Society’s brand standards, operational procedures, service standards, and leadership principles.
- Create training content covering member experience, hospitality excellence, sales and service techniques, leadership basics, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure that training materials are relevant, engaging, and regularly updated to reflect club environments.
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions tailored to varied roles and audience types.
- Lead workshops, induction programs, refresher courses, and development initiatives.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere that motivates participation and practical application.
- Provide personalized coaching to managers and supervisors as needed.
- Support onboarding and training for new club launches.
- Organize the training schedule across multiple clubs and departments, managing logistics like venues, attendance, and record keeping.
- Ensure all new employees complete required induction and compliance training.
- Track fulfillment of mandatory and role-appropriate training assignments.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align training with operational priorities.
- Partner with line managers to identify learning needs and support development strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for learning and development across the organization.
- Assess training effectiveness via feedback, observation, and performance metrics.
- Maintain high-quality training standards consistently across locations.
- Recognize skill gaps and propose enhancements.
- Keep up to date with trends and best practices in learning and development, particularly in hospitality and fitness sectors.
Performance Indicators
- High rates of induction, mandatory, and specialized training completion.
- Favorable participant and line manager feedback.
- Visible improvements in service quality and employee behavior within clubs.
- Consistent delivery of training programs across all sites.
- Effective facilitation of training during new club openings and expansion efforts.
Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience in training, learning & development, or human resources.
- Background in hospitality, fitness, or premium service settings is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in facilitation and presentation, adaptable to diverse groups.
- Experienced in crafting and executing training programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- CIPD certification or equivalent is a plus but not compulsory.
- Availability to travel between different club locations as needed.
