Job description
Overview
This role ensures that all manned and unmanned subsea operations comply with international standards, flag state rules, local laws, and company policies. It entails developing and managing comprehensive personnel, equipment, and contractor vetting programs to minimize major risks during subsea activities. A proactive approach, strong organizational abilities, and deep knowledge of underwater operations are essential to support, document, and safely execute departmental tasks. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are also critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Support one or more vessels and oversee two or more contracts.
- Directly supervise one employee and manage over 25 offshore contractors indirectly.
- Conduct more than ten audits yearly to ensure compliance and safety.
- Promote and establish a safety-first culture aiming for incident-free operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to company HSE policies in all activities.
- Drive and oversee initiatives and technologies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
- Lead investigation and reporting of subsea-related incidents, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
- Assist with budget management and forecasting to keep expenditures within the approved plans.
- Encourage a cost-conscious mindset to deliver sustainable value and improve cost effectiveness.
- Serve as company Subsea Technical Responsible Person, setting standards and approving technical exceptions.
- Facilitate communication and strategic collaboration among critical stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
- Provide expert subsea operational knowledge as outlined in the Logistics Charter.
- Ensure subsea personnel, equipment, and operations comply with CMS policies, international regulations, industry best practices, and classification standards.
- Implement a rigorous vetting program for all personnel and equipment mobilized by the company.
- Manage contracts effectively to ensure contractor compliance with procedural and contractual obligations.
- Support tender processes with technical input and evaluations.
- Drive operational changes aimed at enhancing efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and present key performance indicators measuring equipment and contractor compliance.
- Regularly update senior management with highlights, concerns, and trend analyses.
- Provide technical support and best practice guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events related to subsea operations.
- Participate in crisis response training and assist in emergency situations as needed.
Working Environment
- Based onshore at company’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar on a residential basis.
- Frequent offshore and international travel is required.

Qualifications & Experience
- IMCA Air & Bell Diving Supervisor certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years’ operational subsea experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Diving Supervisor, Superintendent, or Construction Manager.
- Proven expertise in IMCA design and client audits.
- In-depth knowledge of industry guidelines and best practices (IMCA, IOGP, DMAC, IMO).
- Demonstrated skill in delivering and maintaining assurance and competency processes.
