Job description
Role Overview
The Lead Solution Architect for Cyber Security oversees the entire cybersecurity architecture within a critical airport program, ensuring security-by-design principles are embedded consistently across applications, integration points, data management, network infrastructure, and operational technology (OT). This safety- and security-sensitive role emphasizes developing resilient solutions that protect passengers, operations, and data while achieving regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Hold ownership of cyber security architecture and enforce security-by-design protocols across all technological domains.
- Establish and define security standards including controls, identity and access management, encryption schemes, and network segmentation.
- Create frameworks for threat detection, continuous monitoring, and incident response strategies.
- Lead threat modelling exercises along with security risk evaluation and mitigation planning.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and aviation security standards throughout the program.
- Provide assurance on security measures across integration points, network infrastructure, OT, and third-party connectivity.
- Lead, guide, and mentor security architects and analysts, governing the quality of security design outputs.
- Contribute to estimation, planning, and risk management activities within the cyber security domain.
- Advise senior leadership, clients, and partners regarding overall security posture and strategies.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated extensive expertise in cybersecurity architecture on large, complex projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge spanning identity and access management, network security, data protection, cloud environments, and OT security.
- Proficient in performing threat modelling, risk assessments, and managing regulatory compliance obligations.
- Experience embedding security-by-design principles across multi-domain, critical infrastructure solutions.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills suited for advising executive level stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge
- Industry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or cloud security credentials.
- Understanding of aviation-specific security requirements and OT/ICS security frameworks.
- Experience working within critical infrastructure or continually operational (24/7 regulated) environments.
- Familiarity with Managed Security Infrastructure (MSI) operating models.
Educational Background
A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline is required. Equivalent professional experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
