Role Overview

Within TII's AI Research Center, the Lead Researcher will drive cutting-edge AI research projects from inception through completion. This role requires leading teams, mentoring junior researchers, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary groups to convert innovative concepts into viable technological solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in artificial intelligence, encompassing machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Lead and manage research projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and align with the institute's strategic goals.
• Design and implement novel algorithms and models applicable to real-world challenges.
• Keep abreast of the latest AI advancements and incorporate emerging technologies into research efforts.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to translate research findings into practical applications.
• Disseminate research results through comprehensive reports, presentations, and publications in leading conferences.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers and interns regarding research methodologies and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards and promote responsible AI development practices.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• At least five years of research experience in AI or allied areas.
• Demonstrable record of publishing in renowned peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with big data technologies.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
• Capability to lead research teams and oversee complex projects successfully.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in reinforcement learning, generative AI, or multimodal AI systems.
• Understanding of AI ethics and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ability to write grants and secure funding for research initiatives.
