Job description
Overview
The Lead Beverage Bar Back role entails managing supply transport to various bar locations within the casino, overseeing inventory control, record keeping, and ensuring organization within storage areas. All tasks must align with Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies, internal control standards, and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate liquor levels in the pump rack and ensure the pump room is clean, organized, and stocked with backups.
- Manage inventory control for all liquor, maintain requisition forms per location, keep storage rooms tidy, assist with monthly inventories, and coordinate with management to sustain correct par levels.
- Receive beverage deliveries, verify order accuracy, stock items properly, and rotate stock as required.
- Supply necessary items requested by bar backs to various locations, including ice, beer, kegs, juices, garnishes, soda products, and paper supplies, while maintaining requisition records.
- Remove and sort empty beer bottles and trash, stack empty cases, and organize the loading dock area.
- Perform administrative duties using the SWS system, Microsoft Office, and BERG operations, assist management with cleaning schedules, and delegate tasks to bar backs.
- Ensure all beverage areas—including the pump room, walk-in coolers, and bar outlets—are sanitized and compliant with health department guidelines.
- Coordinate with management and vendors to maintain BERG systems, Pepsi systems, and coffee machines in working condition, issuing work orders and conducting routine inspections.
- Adhere to information security policies including Seneca Gaming’s Acceptable Use Policy.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism with patrons, supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Comply with attendance standards and regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete required Seneca Gaming Corporation training programs within nine months of hire.
- Attend all required meetings and adapt to evolving duties and expectations. Work hours are scheduled around a 24-hour framework.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old at the time of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in food service.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in inventory control.
- Preferred experience in food service management or supervision.
- Customer service experience is mandatory.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with a cheerful and accommodating demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of writing routine correspondence and engaging effectively with the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout all casino areas.
- Work involves extensive walking, pushing, pulling, stretching, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment includes moderate to loud noise levels, including on the casino floor, where smoking is allowed.
- Must maintain physical stamina and a positive mental attitude to cope with a fast-paced casino environment and interactions with customers, management, and staff.
Compensation
The starting salary is $16.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience and education. Some qualification requirements may be waived if fully qualified candidates are unavailable.
