Laundry Attendant

Position Overview

The Laundry Attendant will operate and supervise various laundry machinery such as washers, dry cleaning, and drying units, ensuring proper handling of chemicals and maintaining equipment cleanliness. This role includes identifying garments with stains or damage, deciding on repair or disposal actions, and thoroughly inspecting laundered items for quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machines, applying chemicals, and cleaning lint traps as required.
• Inspect laundry items after processing to detect stains, damage, or cleanliness issues and categorize accordingly.
• Adjust dryers to appropriate time and temperature based on fabric types.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, filters, and drain traps post each load.
• Fold laundered articles manually or with folding machines, maintaining designated sizes.
• Keep precise records of laundered items.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety and security guidelines, report incidents, and complete mandatory safety trainings.
• Comply with company policies for uniform, appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection.
• Foster positive workplace relationships, support team goals, and address colleague concerns professionally.
• Ensure quality standards are met and propose improvements for efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools and equipment to detect defects.
• Physically perform tasks including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods; moving objects up to 25 pounds; maneuvering through confined spaces and various terrains; reaching and bending as needed.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• No formal education or related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or certifications necessary.
