Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for managing all linen processing tasks, including bed, terry, and table linens, by operating laundry and dry cleaning machinery in alignment with the hotel's quality standards. The role also involves cleaning, pressing, and finishing both staff and guest garments, along with specific items from guest rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate laundry and dry cleaning equipment to process linens as per hotel protocols.
- Perform cleaning, pressing, and finishing of various fabrics for guests and staff.
- Sort, pretreat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens meticulously.
- Inspect linens for damages or stains, deciding whether to discard or reclaim them.
- Repair linens by mending and sewing when necessary.
- Fulfill banquet and restaurant linen requests promptly.
- Deliver guest service supplies directly to rooms.
- Manage contract-cleaned linen processing and restocking of housekeeping closets and carts.
- Provide towel services for recreational facilities as needed.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, house rules, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protection equipment in line with regulations.
- Cooperate efficiently with managers and supervisors to complete tasks as quickly as possible.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality throughout daily duties.
- Work flexibly including weekends, holidays, and various shifts to support business needs.
Candidate Requirements
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests, management, and colleagues.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is considered advantageous.
- Familiarity with laundry and dry cleaning machines, including chemical handling.
- Knowledge of fabric finishing techniques for diverse materials.
- Willingness to work on a variable schedule involving shift changes, weekends, and holidays.
