Laboratory Technician

About the Company and Role

Located in Kinleith Mill, Waikato, Oji Fibre Solutions is dedicated to sustainably processing virgin wood-fibre from renewable forestry to produce premium kraft pulps utilized worldwide in various boards and specialty products. We are searching for a Laboratory Technician to join our team and support our mill operations through precise testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and analysis on process, quality, and environmental samples, reporting findings accurately and interpreting results to aid continuous improvement and ensure compliance.
• Prepare necessary laboratory chemicals, calibration solutions, and reagents as well as manage inventory of consumables and chemical stocks.
• Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and assist in commissioning new laboratory equipment.
• Assist in process investigations, operational troubleshooting, provide technical support, and deliver training to site personnel.
• Monitor laboratory performance and maintain quality systems while adhering strictly to laboratory safety protocols, HSNO requirements, and quality assurance standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess tertiary qualifications in a science-related field.
• Demonstrate passion for science and laboratory work, with a strong focus on delivering accurate results to support industrial processes.
• Have previous laboratory experience within industrial, environmental, manufacturing, or scientific sectors.
• Enjoy problem-solving and working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
