About the Role
As a Knife Tutor at Silver Fern Farms Ltd, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the skills and confidence of our workforce. Your key duties include organizing and delivering training sessions, mentoring team members, evaluating their competencies, and aiding employees in achieving and upholding essential skill standards.
Collaborating closely with operational leaders and supervisors, you will ensure that both new hires and current employees receive comprehensive training, guidance, and backing to execute their jobs safely and efficiently. Your instruction will encompass knife handling, sharpening, and processing methods. Additionally, you will manage training documentation, support onboarding processes, and spot areas where employee capability and performance can be elevated.
Partnering with buddy trainers and operational teams, you will oversee the progress of trainees, provide coaching as needed, and foster a learning culture centered on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Schedule
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to accommodate seasonal demand.
About You
- Experience in meat processing, manufacturing, training, or production settings
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to establish effective relationships across various business levels
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong administrative competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and in maintaining accurate records
- A proactive mindset towards mentoring and continuous enhancement
- Knowledgeable about knife handling, sharpening techniques, and production processes
- Dedicated to health, safety, and the wellbeing of employees
- Holding or willingness to obtain a training qualification is preferred
