Java Developer - Spring Boot & AWS

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS Cloud technologies. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud-native applications and microservices. The candidate will work in an Agile environment and should be experienced in RESTful APIs and AWS services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust, high-quality Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices adhering to industry best practices.
• Write reusable, clean, and efficient code while performing thorough code reviews.
• Identify and resolve application defects and optimize performance.
• Develop, deploy, and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS platforms including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, highly available, and reliable.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure and application performance.
• Participate in solution architecture and system design discussions.
• Create microservices-based architectures applying distributed systems design principles.
• Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to develop scalable enterprise solutions.
• Engage closely with Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and Business Analysts in Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Document technical details and share knowledge within the team.
• Support production deployments and post-release activities.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of solid experience in Java development.
• Strong command of Java versions 8, 11, and 17.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Expertise developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases.
• Experience working with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with containerization technologies Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Possession of AWS Developer Associate or Solutions Architect certifications.
• Exposure to monitoring tools including Prometheus or Grafana.
