Role Overview

The role requires a proficient Java Developer responsible for architecting, building, testing, and maintaining scalable backend software solutions. The developer must have expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, and database management while collaborating closely across teams to ensure delivery of robust and secure applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain enterprise-level Java and Spring Boot applications.
  • Develop scalable, secure Microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Optimize and manage databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Engage with product managers, architects, and QA to deliver reliable software.
  • Contribute actively to system design and architectural discussions.
  • Implement robust security, including authentication and authorization.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following standards.
  • Create unit and integration tests ensuring code quality.
  • Debug and resolve issues efficiently in production environments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment pipeline activities.

Required Skills and Technologies

  • Advanced Java proficiency (Java 8+; Java 11/17 preferred), including OOP, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling, Design Patterns, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
  • Expertise in Spring framework components: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Security.
  • Experience in Microservices and Event-Driven Architectures and distributed systems concepts.
  • Database skills: design, optimization, and query tuning for MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ; API integration and data formats such as JSON/XML.
  • DevOps and Cloud tools including Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes (preferred), and AWS/Azure/GCP (preferred).
  • Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, integration testing methods, and code quality tools like SonarQube.

Additional Skills (Desirable)

  • Experience with Redis or other caching systems.
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Camunda BPM, OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Security implementations like OAuth2, JWT, RBAC.
  • Infrastructure as Code tools, e.g. Terraform.
  • Monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack, or Splunk.
  • Domain experience in Banking, FinTech, Payments, Retail, or E-commerce is a plus.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical abilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in Agile/Scrum settings.
  • Committed to producing clean, scalable, maintainable code with ownership towards quality and customer focus.
  • Preferred: 5 or more years of hands-on Java development, including building microservices, REST APIs, and managing SQL databases.
  • Proven history delivering high-performance backend systems with experience in cloud services, Kafka, and CI/CD processes.
  • Exposure to production support, monitoring, and optimizing application performance.
