Role Overview
The Janitor position plays a crucial role in the manufacturing sector by preserving a clean, safe, and organized facility that enables effective production workflows. Responsibilities encompass cleaning commercial premises, managing waste, and ensuring all areas abide by health and safety policies. Additionally, the janitor oversees outdoor maintenance including landscaping and lawn care, enhancing both the aesthetics and safety of the manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular cleaning operations such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting floors, walls, and other surfaces throughout the manufacturing plant.
- Develop and follow a comprehensive deep-cleaning calendar to ensure thorough sanitation schedules.
- Perform light outdoor maintenance activities to maintain the surrounding grounds.
- Identify and respond promptly to areas requiring cleaning attention.
- Comply with firearms safety protocols specific to the facility.
- Clean and maintain stainless-steel equipment and surfaces to prevent contamination and maintain industry compliance.
- Safely handle and transport heavy items in adherence to safety guidelines for injury prevention.
- Follow all safety practices diligently to uphold a hazard-free workplace environment for staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of janitorial experience within commercial or industrial environments.
- Conversational ability in English to effectively communicate.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Proficiency with various cleaning tools and machinery.
- Demonstrated capability in interacting productively with diverse individuals.
- Physical capacity to regularly lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Familiarity with janitorial safety procedures.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Capacity to independently resolve minor maintenance issues.
