About the Role
The Internal Security Department (ISD) has safeguarded Singapore's stability and internal security for over 75 years by countering various threats including foreign subversive agents, espionage, racial and religious extremism, and terrorism. Key Responsibilities
As an Intelligence Analyst, you will analyze information collected from diverse sources such as open-source reporting and investigations, synthesizing data into concise, actionable intelligence. Your core function involves sense-making to produce a clear understanding of often complex and conflicting developments, identifying information gaps, assessing security implications, and forecasting emerging threats.
You will perform various forms of analysis—operational, strategic, and policy-oriented. Operational analysis involves supporting investigations aimed at neutralizing security threats. Strategic analysis focuses on monitoring broader, long-term trends to predict threats and inform security assessments. Policy analysis requires you to evaluate policies affecting internal security, assess their implications accurately, and recommend measures to protect Singapore's security interests. The role is dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced, reflecting the evolving security environment.
Requirements
- A degree in any discipline or equivalent competencies.
- Exceptional analytical skills capable of handling extensive information to highlight significant security issues and develop forward-looking insights.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous work habits.
- Genuine interest in current affairs and internal security concerns.
- Excellent written communication skills to craft clear and concise intelligence reports.
- Ability to operate effectively both independently and collaboratively in teams.
- Effective communication and presentation skills are advantageous.
