Opportunity Overview
Are you a collaborative team member who values quality and commitment? Join Maple Leaf Foods at our Port Perry facility, dedicated to excellence in product manufacturing and maintaining a supportive work environment.

Role Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to urgent repair needs.
- Set up, inspect, and shut down production equipment efficiently, including during process changeovers.
- Use various standard shop tools for fabrication and repairs.
- Perform stainless steel welding using TIG and arc welding techniques.
- Operate powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, counterbalances, reach trucks, and walkie/riders.
- Accurately complete all required documentation in a neat manner.
- Comply with relevant regulatory guidelines and safety standards.
- Follow Food Safety, Health & Safety, HACCP, WHMIS protocols, and good manufacturing practices.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Possession of a valid Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Certificate.
- Proficiency with computers, SAP software, and attention to paperwork accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read and speak English.
- Physically capable of performing tasks, including lifting weights over 25 kilograms.
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Flexible and willing to work scheduled shifts.
- Adept at working in fast-paced environments with repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working under varying temperature conditions and able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates urgency, attention to detail, and accountability for work quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Owns a full set of personal tools.
- Experience in a food manufacturing setting is considered a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $41.76.
- Monday to Friday work schedule with rotating day and afternoon shifts.
