Job description

About the Company

Our client is a forward-looking provider of AI infrastructure, establishing the essential computing foundation for AI-driven applications, with expanding operations in Singapore and Southeast Asia. To support these developments, the company is seeking a dedicated professional to lead and manage procurement activities that ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Role Overview

This position is not limited to a single procurement category. Instead, you will serve as a comprehensive procurement partner interfacing with departments across Engineering, IT, HR, and Administration. Your role balances the agility needed in a startup environment with disciplined procurement practices applied to all indirect expenditure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement for Engineering and Facilities, including activities like office fit-outs, facilities management, lab and engineering equipment, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Handle IT and SaaS procurement, encompassing hardware acquisitions, overseeing the complete lifecycle of SaaS services such as AWS/Azure and productivity and security software, as well as optimizing software licensing.
  • Oversee procurement within HR and Benefits sectors to cover corporate insurance, wellness programs, and contracts with recruitment agencies.
  • Support Corporate Services procurement relating to legal, tax, marketing, public relations, and travel and expense management.
  • Unify and consolidate spend across various departments to leverage better pricing and terms.
  • Execute full end-to-end procurement processes, including RFPs and RFQs, from initial market research to negotiation of terms.
  • Draft and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) collaboratively with the legal team.
  • Develop startup-friendly procurement policies and procure-to-pay (P2P) systems to streamline operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on key performance indicators.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline. Certification like CIPS is advantageous.
  • Between 5 and 8 years of experience in indirect procurement, ideally gained at fast-growing technology firms or scale-ups.
  • Deep familiarity with the vendor ecosystem in Singapore, including IT distributors, facilities management contractors, and insurance brokers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate across technical engineering and HR/benefits domains.
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with a cost-efficient mindset and a focus on establishing enduring vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to facilitate working with Mandarin-speaking vendors and partners.
