Key Responsibilities
- Clean all kitchen utensils, including chinaware, glassware, pots, pans, and other equipment.
- Properly store all cleaned items in their designated places.
- Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the dish-room, including floors, sinks, and walls.
- Organize the dish-room effectively to optimize workflow.
- Immediately address spills and safety hazards to ensure a secure environment.
- Dispose of garbage and laundry bags as required.
- Mop floors and clean the outside dock and communal spaces.
- Stock and clean the food line areas in both the employee cafeteria and banquet kitchen.
- Operate, maintain, and breakdown the dishwashing machine at the start and end of every shift.
- Complete opening and closing checklists accurately and thoroughly.
- Represent Enchantment Resort positively and professionally at all times.
- Promote teamwork by collaborating with coworkers and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a current food handler’s certification as an essential qualification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Supervision
This role does not include supervisory duties but reports directly to the Banquet Chef, Sous Chef, and Assistant Executive Chef.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant associated work experience or training.
- Ability to understand and follow straightforward written or verbal instructions with sound judgment.
- Capacity to identify and resolve routine issues independently.
- Familiarity with HACCP protocols and proper food sanitation standards.
- Comfort and safety knowledge in the use of various cleaning chemicals.
- Current food handler’s certification must be maintained.
Physical Demands
- Regular lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
- Physical activity distribution during shifts includes 5% sitting, 25% bending, 10% standing, and 60% walking.
- Manual dexterity is required for handling kitchen tools and equipment.
- Ability to work under temperature extremes.
- Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules.
- Proper use and handling of cleaning solutions required.
