About the Role
The Human Resources Director will report directly to the property's General Manager and maintain a functional reporting line to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources. As part of the property's executive committee, this leadership role integrates deep HR generalist knowledge and expertise tailored to property needs. Key accountabilities include talent acquisition, succession and workforce planning, performance management, employee development, leveraging technology efficiently, and coaching to meet business objectives effectively. This position operates with significant autonomy, designing processes in alignment with corporate goals and utilizing a Human Resource Business Plan consistent with property and brand strategies to enable success.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive and follow up on employee engagement survey activities.
- Lead talent management to support property and regional diversity strategies.
- Translate business priorities into actionable HR strategies and initiatives.
- Implement and sustain HR programs at the property level.
- Coordinate human capital review and lead succession planning activities.
- Assess leadership pipelines and oversee follow-up processes.
- Proactively introduce initiatives that enhance performance or control costs.
- Monitor effective use of HR technologies by managers and employees.
- Participate in succession management and workforce planning.
- Serve as the main change agent for HR initiatives with significant employee impact.
- Act as a member of the executive committee, reporting on HR metrics and aligning with owner priorities.
- Supervise property and market-based HR staff as appropriate.
- Coach managers on hiring practices, compensation considerations, and optimizing staffing processes.
- Manage staffing decisions to maintain an effective talent pipeline.
- Ensure managers are skilled in assessing hourly staff.
- Stay current on internal and external compensation markets and lead total compensation planning for hourly employees.
- Develop and implement recognition and incentive programs aligned with property priorities.
- Ensure completion of HR staff responsibilities and provide necessary training and support.
- Serve as a resource for employee relations and promote positive employee relations concepts continuously.
Candidate Profile
Educational qualifications include either a two-year accredited degree with four years of relevant experience or a four-year bachelor’s degree with two years in HR or related operations. Experience in human resources management and operations is essential.
