Role Overview
Based in Jeddah, the Head Waiter serves as the on-site leader of the dining area, responsible for orchestrating the waitstaff team and guaranteeing prompt, courteous, and accurate service to guests. Key duties involve welcoming and seating diners, managing table assignments and reservations, overseeing order taking and food delivery, and professionally handling any service challenges. Collaboration with kitchen and bar teams ensures seamless communication, while ensuring table setups and cleanliness meet standards. Additionally, the role includes training and mentoring team members on service excellence, monitoring customer satisfaction, assisting with menu guidance, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven customer service aptitude, capable of addressing guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with respect and efficiency.
- Experience in food service operations including table service, menu familiarity, and coordination with kitchen staff.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests, colleagues, and management.
- Basic knowledge of culinary processes and kitchen operations to synchronize service timing and menu details.
- Prior supervisory or lead waiter experience within restaurants, hotels, or similar hospitality environments.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail in service delivery and cleanliness.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification is beneficial.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language proficiency considered a plus.
- Maintains a professional demeanor, demonstrates reliability, and works well in diverse, collaborative teams.
