Role Overview
The Handyman is responsible for promptly addressing maintenance requests and proactively handling repair tasks across various hotel areas including security points, swimming pools, grounds, and guest rooms. The role entails performing general maintenance such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorative work to ensure smooth operations.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of high school (Matric)
- 1 to 2 years of prior experience in a handyman or maintenance role
- Additional relevant qualifications are considered an advantage and may influence salary
- Practical, hands-on problem-solving skills with poise under pressure
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with fellow staff and hotel guests
- Demonstrated honesty, trustworthiness, and reliability
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Professional appearance and articulate speech
- Team player who leads through example and initiative
- Proactive attitude towards work
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several tasks concurrently
Additional Information
Candidates should note that if they are required to relocate to the hotel location in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, they will be responsible for their own relocation expenses.
