Job description

About the Role

Become a key member of the Glen Innes Hospital team, delivering crucial maintenance services throughout the Glen Innes and Tablelands region. This permanent full-time role involves collaborating closely with an experienced team, including tradespeople and a seasoned handyman, to maintain the functionality and safety of the hospital's facilities.

The position includes attending regular Tool Box Talks and working together to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all work is properly documented. Orientation and training opportunities are provided, along with administrative and health service management support, and additional assistance from Facilities Management and Workplace Health and Safety units.

Work Environment

Situated in the agricultural town of Glen Innes, known for its picturesque landscapes and nickname "Celtic Capital of Australia," the hospital is a 24-bed Level 3 rural facility with medical, obstetric, and day surgery services. It is currently undergoing a $50 million redevelopment of its Emergency Department, aimed at creating a modern, adaptable clinical environment for the community.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications or the willingness to acquire certifications in height safety, traffic control, pool operations, and tagging and testing.

What We Offer

  • A career in a stimulating rural health setting with opportunities to work alongside both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Monthly additional days off (ADO) for full-time employees.
  • Salary packaging benefits and access to a fitness passport.
  • Employee Assistance Program supporting staff and family members.
  • Proximity to shopping and local amenities.

Additional Information

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens with valid travel documents; temporary visa holders may be considered only when no local candidate is suitable and subject to visa conditions.
  • An eligibility list will be maintained for potential future permanent or temporary opportunities, both full- and part-time.
  • Job sharing or part-time arrangements are open to consideration despite the role being primarily full time.
  • No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
  • This is a Category A role requiring compliance with NSW Health disease screening and vaccination policies before employment.
