About the Role

Green by Nature is seeking a dedicated Garden Labourer / Grounds Person for a full-time permanent position maintaining the grounds of a prestigious school located in Toowoomba, Queensland. This role offers hands-on experience in both turf and garden care to keep outdoor areas pristine throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diverse lawn and garden upkeep such as mowing, edging, trimming hedges, removing weeds, pruning plants, planting new growth, and applying mulch.
• Ensure high-quality maintenance of lawns, flower beds, and landscaped spaces across the school property.
• Operate hand tools including hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and whipper snippers as well as petrol-powered machinery like push mowers and ride-on mowers safely and effectively.
• Assist with loading and unloading of plants, materials, and equipment as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the work environment, including proper care of all tools and equipment.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and help foster a culture of workplace safety within the team.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are hardworking individuals with a positive mindset who take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard. Prior experience in grounds maintenance, turf management, gardening, landscaping, or related fields will be welcomed but is not mandatory, as a willingness to learn is equally valuable.

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry items, bend, kneel, squat, and stand outdoors for long periods in varied weather conditions.
